Manchester United striker backed to reach Haaland level | OneFootball

The former coach of Manchester United striker Benjamin Sesko is confident the forward can reach a level similar to Erling Haaland.

Rene Aufhauser coached both Haaland and Sesko at Austrian side Red Bull Salzburg. The two players have followed similar career paths, emerging at Salzburg before development in Germany and high-profile transfers to the Premier League.

Sesko has had a quiet start to his Manchester United career, after joining from RB Leipzig for an initial £66.3m in the summer. The Slovenia international is yet to open his account for the club, but Aufhauser is confident Sesko will be a success.

Discussing the 22-year-old, he backed Sesko to develop at Old Trafford and reach a level similar to Manchester City striker Haaland in the coming years.

“Erling Haaland, I will rate him 10 out of 10,” Aufhauser said, as per Sky Sports.

“I think Erling is (an) outstanding striker and Benji, at the moment I think he’s a nine, nine-and-a-half out of 10. And he has also potential. He will develop in the next one and two years, I am sure.

“Erling reached his mark after his transfer from Dortmund to Manchester City and we will see. I’m quite sure Benji will reach this mark after one or two years. But, of course, Erling is the top. He has 10 out of 10 from me.”
