Manchester United are fully focused on securing multiple attacking midfielders this summer. Matheus Cunha’s signing has already been confirmed, and now, the Red Devils are pursuing Bryan Mbeumo.

While initially it seemed like a deal could be agreed for £50 million, the Bees are now demanding close to £60 million after seeing INEOS’ deal for the former Wolverhampton Wanderers ace.

The presence of Arsenal and Newcastle in the race has imbued them with more confidence to try and ask for a higher fee, despite the Cameroonian having only one year left on his current deal.

His wage demands are also excessive with the 25-year-old demanding a five-fold increase from £50,000 to £250,000 per week to sign on the dotted line.

Bryan Mbeumo wage demands

And as per Talksport, the Red Devils are ready to accept his wage demands in order to finally put to rest all these transfer rumours.

As relayed by The Peoples Person, club-to-club talks have already started between United and the Bees to get the deal over the line as early as possible.

“Manchester United have made contact with Brentford over their move for Brentford winger Bryan Mbeumo, talkSPORT understands. The 25-year-old is believed to have already given his approval over a summer switch to Old Trafford.

“But the Bees are holding out for a fee of £60 million, which would eclipse their £40m club-record sale of Ivan Toney to Al Ahli last year.

United ready to accept

“It is understood that United are prepared to meet Mbeumo’s whopping wage demands in order to join the Red Devils. The Cameroon international wants £250,000 to sign on the dotted line.

“Incredibly, that is five times his current salary at the Gtech Community Stadium, where he pockets £50k on a weekly basis.”

It does not seem likely that Mbeumo will be asking for such a massive increase and it might be likely that this is a ploy to dissuade other clubs from joining the transfer race so as to avoid the chances of Brentford initiating a bidding war.

INEOS clearly mean business and are looking to solve the problem of creativity first before moving on to signing a striker.

Liam Delap’s rejection might have been a blessing in disguise as seen from United’s prompt deals for Cunha and now, Bryan Mbeumo.
