Mancini: “Gasperini raises our level.”

Roma vice-captain Gianluca Mancini discussed the appointment of Gian Piero Gasperini as the club’s new head coach.

Having worked together at Atalanta, Mancini reflected on what Gasperini brings to the table ahead of the next season.

”He is a strong coach who has proven all his worth,” Mancini told Sky Sport.

“With Atalanta he has done something unique and we are happy that he is our coach.”

“I had my first experience in Serie A with him and he taught me a lot. As I’ve always said, he formed me as a footballer. I’m happy and it will be a wonderful challenge to understand new things that he will bring to the team.”

”We know very well what his football is made of intensity, aggressiveness of knowing how to play in spaces, with the ball. It will be a tough preseason, but we’ll try to make the best of it ahead of the new season.”
