Manu Silva made his first appearance in more than a month with a late outing as Benfica beat Vitória Guimarães, then marked the reunion with a short social media message.
The 24-year-old midfielder was sent on by José Mourinho in the closing stages on Saturday 21 March against the club he shone for before moving to Benfica. According to Glorioso 1904, Benfica are considering loaning him next season to secure regular minutes after injury and believe a move could be the right step.
He later posted that it was a great win and three more points, adding the fixture would always be special for him. The victory featured goals from Prestianni and Pavlidis, plus a Beni Mukendi own goal.
Last season’s injury stalled the No 16’s progress, costing rhythm and opportunities at a key stage. His return has been managed gradually, while strong competition in midfield has limited game time.
In 2025/26 he has made 10 appearances for Benfica, seven in Liga Portugal Betclic, one in the Champions League, one in the Taça de Portugal and one in the Taça da Liga, totalling 247 minutes. He is valued at nine million euros.
