After defeating Liverpool on Tuesday night at Anfield, Paris Saint-Germain now face another Premier League side, Aston Villa, with a spot in the semifinal on the line.

PSG had a challenging encounter with Liverpool, needing a penalty shootout to advance, while Aston Villa cruised through their UEFA Champions League Round of 16 tie against Club Brugge, winning 6-1 on aggregate.

The veteran attacker was asked about facing his current club, considering he’s on loan to the English side, and he opted to sidestep the question rather than share his true feelings, at least for now.

“I am thinking about the night, very happy with the victory and then in one or two weeks we will have time to think about this game,” Asensio said (h/t Birmingham Live).

“Here, every detail is important. Brugge had one player less so we have to dominate these things. Now we are in the next round and we know that every game is different, so we have to prepare and do our maximum.”

Asensio will face the coach who limited his role this season, a decision that was a key factor in his move to Villa Park during the winter transfer window.

At the same time, Unai Emery will face the club he managed from 2016 to 2018, where he won a league title, two Coupe de France trophies, two Coupe de la Ligue trophies, and two Trophée des Champions.
