This morning Plettenberg is quoting Sky Sports Austria journalist Eric Niederseer and both updates are shown below.
Tilio has been given some minutes by Brendan Rodgers in Celtic’s pre-season matches after returning from a season long loan back in Australia at Melbourne City. However Tilio appeared to have ruled out a second loan move back to his homeland as he looks to make a name for himself in Europe. That chance though is NOT going to come at Celtic.
He’s another of the failed project signing from the summer 2023 transfer window which Brendan Rodgers has assessed and determined that none -with the exception of Yang – are part of his plans going forward and in this window we have already seen Gustaf Lagerbielke, Maik Nawrocki and now Marco Tilio leave the club either on a permanent deal or a loan with an option to buy.

Celtic according to the Sky Sports chaps in Central Europe are to receive a loan fee of €400k the 23 year old Australian with an obligation to buy which is activated after 20 starts for Rapid Vienna. The fee upon activation will be €1.5 million so Celtic could just about get our money back on the Tilio transfer.
Marco Tilio certainly is NOT a dud, even in his short spell on the pitch against Sporting and Newcastle United – two Champions League sides – he looked comfortable and hinted at causing damage to top defences.
But it’s not to be at Celtic and hopefully the Bhoy does well at Rapid Vienna with Celtic receiving their fee maybe around Christmas. That would be an excellent outcome all round.
