Marcos Senesi joins Tottenham from Bournemouth | OneFootball

Marcos Senesi has officially been announced as a new signing for Tottenham Tottenham. The Argentinian centre-back leaves Bournemouth on a free transfer after four seasons with the Cherries.

 "It's a very special feeling to be a Tottenham Hotspur player," the 29-year-old said on his arrival.

"From the first moment, the Club has shown why they want me and how much they want me to be a part of what they are building. It's exciting and something I can't wait to be involved in.

"Every time I step on the pitch, I will do my best to make the fans proud and to take the Club back to the place it belongs. I want to win things with Tottenham and will do everything I can to make that happen."

Senesi initially made his move to in English football in 2022/23, having previously featured for Feyenoord. His spell in the Netherlands had been his first experience outside Argentina.

This season, the defender was one of the most used players by Andoni Iraola, making 39 appearances and contributing to the campaign that saw Bournemouth finish sixth in the Premier League, a position that secured qualification for the Europa League.

New Roberto De Zerbi also commented on the arrival of the new Spurs number 5: "Marcos' experience, quality on the ball, and competitive edge will strengthen us defensively, as well as giving us flexibility in formation."

Tottenham remain active in the transfer market, having already announced the signing of Andy Robertson and the contract extension of Ben Davies, one of the longest-serving players at the London club.
