Marcus Rashford has reportedly suffered a hamstring injury which is expected to keep him sidelined through the end of the Premier League season.
Rashford will soon undergo further tests as Villa look to understand the extent of the issue.
The Briton has impressed for Aston Villa since joining on loan from Manchester United in January, scoring four goals and assisting a further six in 17 appearances.
He may already have made his last appearance for the club, though, as he is set to miss the Villans’ four remaining matches.
The recovery timeframe is made even tighter for Rashford as he is ineligible to face United, his parent club, on the last day of the season.

He had missed Saturday’s FA Cup semi-final loss to Crystal Palace with a reported knock. Unai Emery confirmed that he was injured and gave the nod to Ollie Watkins, who failed to score as Villa were dumped out of the competition. Prior to that tie, he had appeared in every Villa match since joining the club.
Villa currently sit seventh and are well-placed to qualify for European football next season, but whether Rashford will take part in that campaign remains to be seen. He is reportedly considering his options ahead of the summer transfer window, and hopes to compete in the Champions League.
A return to Man United seems to be unlikely as Rashford and Ruben Amorim do not see eye to eye. The Portuguese had criticised his work rate and attitude in training upon his arrival in November, prompting Rashford to leave the club.
Also set to depart United this summer is Rashford’s fellow loanee Antony, who was sent to Real Betis in January after a dismal start to his Premier League campaign. He has enjoyed life in Spain, though, notching nine goal involvements in 18 appearances.
