Marcus Thuram’s acrobatic volley puts Inter ahead after two minutes against Bologna

L'Équipe reports that Marcus Thuram fired Inter Milan into a second-minute lead with an acrobatic volley in Friday night’s 2025 Supercoppa Italiana semi-final against Bologna.

The France forward met Alessandro Bastoni’s deep cross to the far post, turning it in with a well-executed, acrobatic finish.

Team-mates raced to celebrate with him, while usual strike partner Lautaro Martinez applauded from the bench after starting among the substitutes.

Thuram is only the second player in the competition’s history to score inside the opening two minutes, after Robbie Keane in 2000 against Lazio.

Should Inter progress, they would face Napoli in the final after Napoli beat AC Milan 2-0 on Thursday. The mini-tournament is being staged in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.
