Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg is expected to start on the bench for Olympique de Marseille tonight as they head up the coast to face local rivals OGC Nice on Friday night.
Hojbjerg is managing muscular discomfort and so no risks are being taken by Marseille ahead of next week’s game against Newcastle United in the UEFA Champions League. The Dane’s absence should give England international Angel Gomes a chance to start this evening.
Roberto De Zerbi must also contend with absentees with Nayef Aguerd, Facundo Medina, and Michael Murillo notably absent at the back. It means that CJ Egan-Riley will likely start for OM. Further up the pitch, Amine Gouiri and Hamed Junior Traoré will also miss out. Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang will lead the line.
Geronimo Rulli; Emerson, CJ Egan-Riley, Leonardo Balerdi, Benjamin Pavard; Geoffrey Kondogbia, Arthur Vermeeren; Igor Paixao, Angel Gomes, Mason Greenwood; Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang. (L’Éq)
