Olympique de Marseille are in the market for a No.10 during the January transfer window. The likes of Matt O’Riley, Angel Gomes, Arthur Vermeeren, and Darryl Bakola have all played in the position this season, but none of them have made the position their own.

In recent weeks, the signing of another No.10 has been discussed internally at OM. Multiple profiles are being considered, according to a report from L’ÉquipeOne of those profiles is OGC Nice’s Sofiane Diop (25). The forward was omitted from Morocco’s Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) squad and so has the benefit of being available at the start of January and the return of Ligue 1 from a short winter break.

Diop also has the benefit of being able to play out wide. That is handy given that, speaking on Thursday, Marseille president Pablo Longoria said that the club were looking for back-up for Mason Greenwood. Diop’s contract at Nice runs until 2027.
