Marshall Munetsi (29) could make a return to Ligue 1 this January, according to a report from L’Équipe. Wolverhampton Wanderers would be open to a departure for the Zimbabwe international.
Munetsi left Stade de Reims after six years to join Wolves back in February. Despite initially carving out a place for himself in the side, his minutes have been severely limited since the managerial change at Molineux. A regular under Vitor Pereira, his limited role under Rob Edwards could see him leave in January and potentially move back to France.
L’Équipe understands that there are several (unnamed) Ligue 1 clubs interested in the midfielder, whose contract with Wolves runs until 2028.
Wolves, who currently sit bottom of the Premier League with just two points, are not opposed to Munetsi’s departure. They may even be willing to accept a loan deal, the publication adds, which, given the limited finances of many clubs, could help facilitate a move next month.
