Martin O’Neill is no stranger to matches against Dundee, and over the 18 occasions that the Hoops boss has faced the Dens Park side, he has racked up 16 wins, two draws and has never tasted defeat.

The Irishman will be hoping that his strong record against Dundee continues this weekend when Celtic travel to face Steven Pressley’s side on Easter Sunday (KO 4.30pm).

With only seven league games left until the end of the season, every point won or lost is sure to have a huge impact on the outcome of the Scottish Premiership title race and the Hoops will be looking to respond after a disappointing defeat at Tannadice just two weeks ago.

A win at Dens Park on Sunday would be Celtic’s first victory on Tannadice Street this season and, speaking to the media at Lennoxtown this afternoon, Martin O’Neill said that his side have the belief that they can put a run of results together, starting with a win on Sunday.

“I’ve just been reminded that all three Celtic managers this season have lost in Dundee,” the Celtic manager said. “so we’ll try and rectify that!

“I think we’re looking forward to it, but we know how difficult it’s going to be and we’ve got to be ready for it.

“We made a lot of mistakes in our last game and you learn. I don’t think we adjusted well enough to the conditions and that’s down to us.

“We had a setback so we have to put it to the side, get geared up for the game and be ready for a strong match.

“Dundee have been very competitive and they played very well against us at our place in the cup.

“I expect a really difficult game and that will be case. It will be hard for us.”
