Aston Villa entertained Brighton and Hove Albion at Villa Park earlier tonight as they hoped to secure a good result at home in the Premier League. The Villans made a solid start to the game but were held to a scoreless draw at the half-time break.

Unai Emery’s men finally got their noses ahead in the 86th minute when Jack Hinshelwood scored an unfortunate own goal. The match ended with Aston Villa securing a narrow 1-0 win at Villa Park.
