Making his appearance in the victory over Slavia Prague in the Czech Republic, teenager Max Dowman became the youngest player ever to feature in the Champions League since the competition’s rebrand in 1992/93.

At just 15 years, 10 months and 4 days old, the Arsenal midfielder broke the record previously held by Youssoufa Moukoko, who made his debut for Borussia Dortmund at 16 years and 18 days old.

Dowman had already made headlines earlier this season when he became the second-youngest player in Premier League history back in August – a record still held by his teammate Ethan Nwaneri, who also featured in Prague.

Now with five senior appearances to his name, the left-footed attacking midfielder continues to impress for Arsenal and has already represented England at youth level.
