Scott McTominay has recovered from his recent illness and is now back in full training under Antonio Conte at Napoli, having sat out of his side’s 2-1 victory over Milan in Serie A at the weekend.
McTominay has been a mainstay in the Partenopei midfield since his summer transfer from Manchester United, having lined up in a starter in every league match after his debut, and was only taken off before full-time in three of those matches, for a total of 25 minutes of missed action from 25 league appearances.
The Scotland international was struggling with the flu in the build-up to Napoli’s 2-1 win over Milan at the weekend, and was ultimately left out of the squad altogether, with Conte going for a midfield of Andre-Frank Zambo Anguissa, Stanislave Lobotka and McTominay’s international colleague Billy Gilmour as his direct replacement.

According to La Gazzetta dello Sport, McTominay returned to full training with the rest of the Napoli squad on Wednesday, and is in contention to return to the starting line-up when Conte and the team take on Bologna at the Dall’Ara on Monday night.

There are also no major concerns surrounding Anguissa or Lobotka – the former has recently returned from injury, the latter had struggled with cramp over the last few days.
Napoli’s only doubt ahead of the upcoming Bologna match is Leonardo Spinazzola, who has been struggling with muscular fatigue rather than a fresh injury.
