Memphis has travelled to the Netherlands after Monday night’s flight and begun treatment on a grade two injury to his right thigh. The Corinthians forward is targeting a return once his rehabilitation progresses.
He was hurt in the first half against Flamengo on Sunday, moments after creating the move that led to Yuri Alberto’s goal. He went down holding his right thigh and asked to be substituted.
On Wednesday he shared part of his recovery work on social media, addressing supporters with a brief message. The player said in a post that he would be back soon.
The number 10 chose to begin treatment in the Netherlands with the national team’s medical department.
Ruled out of the Dutch friendlies during the FIFA window, he is expected to miss around four weeks for Corinthians. That period includes the first two Conmebol Libertadores matches and a clássico with Palmeiras.
