Memphis Depay returns for Corinthians against Bahia, could equal club’s century top scorer v Bahia | OneFootball

Memphis Depay is in line for his first appearance of the season for Corinthians. According to Meu Timao, the Dutch forward has been named in the squad to face Bahia. The opener is at 20:00 on Wednesday at Vila Belmiro.

He has two goals in his only game against Bahia. A goal this week would see him draw level with Renato Augusto as Corinthians' top scorer this century against Bahia.

He could get minutes as he builds fitness for the Supercopa do Brasil. Corinthians face Flamengo at Mané Garrincha in Brasília on Sunday at 16:00, with the first trophy of the season at stake.

Depay has not featured in 2026. He followed a tailored strengthening programme after playing through the end of 2025, notably in the Copa do Brasil finals, when he scored the title-clinching goal in a 2-1 win over Vasco.

The No 10 sat out games against Ponte Preta, Red Bull Bragantino, São Paulo, Santos and Velo Clube under the physical plan. He had fitness issues through 2025, most recently an oedema in his left knee that saw him protected late in the Brasileiro and at the start of this season.

He has 19 goals and 15 assists in 56 appearances for the club, plus Paulista and Copa do Brasil titles, both in 2025.
