A new chapter begins for Alexander Djiku. The Ghanaian defender is making the move to Russia, where he has signed with Spartak Moscow.
Fenerbahçe officially announced the departure of the Ghana international (33 caps, 2 goals) with a brief statement on its X account this Tuesday, September 9, 2025.
"Our club has reached an agreement with Spartak Moscow, a Russian league club, for the transfer of our player Alexander Djiku. We thank him for his efforts and wish him a successful career," the Turkish side said in its statement.
The former Strasbourg player had been playing in Turkey since July 2023. He scored 4 goals and provided 2 assists in 75 appearances in Istanbul.
The match-winner for the Black Stars against Mali (1-0), Djiku was also approached by Braga, Fiorentina, and Besiktas this summer. Ultimately, he will continue his career in Russia.
