Messi and Bright named in MLS Team of the Matchday for matchday 13 | OneFootball

Leo Messi and Yannick Bright have been named in the MLS Team of the Matchday, presented by Audi, for matchday 13 of the 2026 regular season after Inter Miami’s 3-5 comeback win away to FC Cincinnati on Wednesday.

According to Inter Miami, Messi collected his seventh selection of the campaign after two goals and an assist in Cincinnati.

He struck first in the 24th minute, capitalising on a defensive error to finish from inside the box. In the second half, he made it 2-2 in the 55th minute with a first-time left-footed effort from the centre of the box after a precise delivery from Rodrigo De Paul on the right.

Messi then teed up Mateo Silvetti down the left side of the box in the 79th minute to level at 3-3. An 89th-minute own goal by goalkeeper Roman Celentano, after Messi’s shot rebounded off the right post, completed the 3-5 turnaround.

The captain now has 11 goals, tied for second in the MLS Golden Boot race, and five assists this regular season.

Bright earned his first Team of the Matchday nod of the campaign after an assured 90 minutes, highlighted by accurate distribution and a 90 percent pass completion rate.
