The accomplished Argentinian continues to make history with every team he plays for, and is now close to achieving a new record with Inter Miami. In Inter Miami's last match, the Argentinian star helped his team secure their second consecutive victory.

Lionel Messi moved to within one strike of a historic milestone, scoring his 899th official career goal in Inter Miami’s latest MLS outing. The Argentine found the net once again, adding to a brace he had already recorded earlier this season against Orlando City.

Miami’s victory, secured under Javier Mascherano’s watch, came thanks to two clinical finishes from his compatriots—Messi and Rodrigo De Paul both got on the scoresheet. Tai Baribo pulled one back for the hosts, but it wasn’t enough to deny the Herons, who climbed to third in the Eastern Conference with the win.
