Meunier scored then laid on the winner as Lille beat Marseille 2-1 at the Vélodrome, with Aubameyang ineffective.
According to L'Équipe, Paixao was Marseille's most persistent threat. He exchanged passes with Timber before supplying Nwaneri, who finished with his left shortly before the interval.
Moments later, Höjbjerg released Aubameyang but he could not beat Özer in the second minute of added time.
Early in the second half, Meunier equalised after Aubameyang lost possession and Balerdi scuffed a clearance.
Rulli later denied Haraldsson, but Lille struck late when Giroud headed in with four minutes left.
Beye introduced Gouiri to support Aubameyang around the hour and the forward went close, yet Marseille's recurring lapses at the back proved decisive.
