Real Madrid are perpetually on the lookout for the next big young talent in football.

While it may not be in sync with their philosophy over the years, Los Blancos now believe in preparing a long-term project and the recent signings of Arda Guler, Franco Mastantuono and Endrick are all in line with the same.

Xabi Alonso and Co., on that front, hold a special interest in Mexican football, for one of the world’s best upcoming midfield talents plies his trade at the venue, namely, Gilberto Mora.

Currently playing for Club Tijuana, the 17-year-old already has three goals and two assists in the Liga MX, Apertura and has been a regular starter for Sebastian Abreu’s side.

Mora opens up about his future

In a recent interview with ESPN via SPORT, the young player was asked about the plethora of options he had on his table and whether or not he was open to making a big-money switch.

The player replied by acknowledging that he had indeed triggered interest in several top teams but insisted that his focus was only on improving as a player.

“I have managed to get several clubs to look for me.”

“I don’t know, but I try to focus on my football, on the field, which is the most important thing, and it will happen on its own,” he added.

The young Mexican star is primarily a midfielder but is also capable of operating as a winger when the need arises.

His versatility and quality on the ball make him one of Real Madrid’s preferred targets for the upcoming summer transfer window.

Mora, in fact, has been called up to join the senior Mexican national team in the upcoming international break and Real Madrid will continue to monitor his performances at the event.

After all, they have heavily relied on the South American market in recent times, signing names including Endrick, Franco Mastantuono and Vinicius Jr.
