Michael Olise appears to have remained in the United States after the World Cup and was spotted joining a casual kickabout with strangers in New York, playing in socks.
According to L'Équipe, the France and Bayern Munich player took part in a pick-up game on Thursday, easing into downtime after France’s 4-6 defeat to England in the third-place match.
The World Cup’s leading assist provider even played without boots. In an orange T-shirt and chequered trousers, he stood out among the park players.
Organisers later posted on Instagram to thank him for dropping by, noting he outplayed them even while in socks.
Those who lined up alongside the France international posed for a group photo, a keepsake from an impromptu New York run-out.
