Michel Platini to tell his passion for football in 2026 documentary series | OneFootball

Michel Platini has unveiled a documentary series slated for 2026, charting his journey from Nancy to his thwarted FIFA ambitions.

According to L'Équipe, the six 30-minute episodes were introduced on Tuesday at the Olympia as Canal+ presented its 2026 projects.

Directed by Guillaume Priou, recently co-author of “Laure ! Laure ! Laure !” about Laure Manaudou, and produced by Chengyu Prod, it features contributions from Karl-Heinz Rummenigge, Zico and Dragan Stojkovic.

The three-time Ballon d'Or winner, in 1983, 1984 and 1985, said he hoped the series would help viewers share his passion, especially younger generations.

The former France captain, who led UEFA from 2007 to 2016, saw plans to pursue the FIFA presidency halted by a payments case in which he was later acquitted.

He reiterated that he does not envisage any role within institutions, though he still dreams of giving players more power in governance, arguing that footballers are guardians of the game. He left open a return to football in some form, but ruled out clubs or governing bodies. A broadcast date has not yet been confirmed.
