Rob Edwards is yet to earn a point at Wolverhampton Wanderers since leaving Middlesbrough for the Premier League side
Rob Edwards left Middlesbrough in early November to join Premier League outfit Wolverhampton Wanderers as the club's new head coach, but things haven't exactly gone to plan for the Welshman at Molineux.
Following the dismissal of Michael Carrick at the end of the 2024/25 EFL Championship season, Middlesbrough decided to appoint former Watford and Luton Town boss Rob Edwards as the club's new head coach.
Edwards had guided Luton to the Premier League in 2023 after beating Coventry City in the play-off final via penalties, though he was unable to keep the Hatters in the top flight, and they were immediately relegated back to the second tier.
Luton chose to keep Edwards at the helm despite relegation, something which they would come to regret, as the Welshman left the club by mutual consent in January 2025 with Luton hovering just above the relegation zone.
Middlesbrough owner Steve Gibson decided that Edwards would be the man to take the mantle left behind by Carrick in the summer, and the Welshman would have Boro sitting 2nd in the table by early November.
Despite this, and having signed a three-year deal just months prior, Edwards made his intentions to leave the high-flying club for Premier League side Wolverhampton Wanderers, who he would swiftly join, leaving a bad taste in the mouths of everyone at Middlesbrough.
Fast-forward to the present day, and Edwards has yet to pick up a point in seven attempts since taking charge at Molineux, with now reports surfacing that if he is unable to start adding to Wolves' points tally sooner rather than later, he could be given the boot, much to the delight of Middlesbrough fans.

Despite leaving them in a comfortable position in the EFL Championship table, Middlesbrough fans will be disappointed with the manner in which he exited the club, and will be pleased to see him not move on to greener pastures.
Indeed, Wolves were in a heap of trouble before Edwards' arrival, sitting at the bottom of the Premier League on two points at the time he joined, and after seven games in charge, the only thing that has changed is that their goal difference has gotten worse.
Edwards has lost each of his seven games in charge ahead of their away trip to Old Trafford on Tuesday night, where they will need to be at their very best once more to get anything from the game.
Though Middlesbrough are now winless in their last three games themselves following their 1-0 home defeat to Hull, they will remain content with the decision to appoint Hellberg as the club's new boss going forward.
Middlesbrough's fans' main focus will, of course, be on their club and returning to winning ways, though there will be many amongst the fanbase who can't help but watch on Edwards' struggles at Wolves and crack a smile.

Middlesbrough chose Swedish head coach Hellberg as the new man in the dugout at The Riverside to continue their promotion charge.
Boro won each of their first four games under the Swede, creating a gap between themselves and the play-off places, but since their 2-0 defeat away to Bristol City, they haven't scored a goal and picked up just one point.
Middlesbrough fans will be hoping that this is just a slight blip in his tenure, and is not a sign of a worrying trend beginning to start.
Indeed, the Teesside outfit endured similar blips in form with Edwards in charge, so the alarm bells are not ringing just yet, but they will be hoping to bounce back sooner rather than later.
If Middlesbrough can continue their success under Hellberg, and Edwards continues to struggle at Wolves, or even gets sacked, it will make the Welshman's decision to leave the club all the funnier for Boro fans.
