Middlesbrough can move top of the Championship table with a win at Sheffield United tonight.
Kim Hellberg’s side will want to take advantage of Coventry City’s dropped points over the weekend and move top of the table for the first time since September.
Boro currently trail Coventry by a point ahead of their game in hand at Bramall Lane tonight, where the visitors will be searching for a sixth straight Championship win.
In their path are Sheffield United, under the guidance of former Middlesbrough manager Chris Wilder. The Blades have endured a tough season but head into this one unbeaten in three.
Middlesbrough could hand a full debut to winter window signing Jeremy Sarmiento. The winger, who has joined on loan from Brighton, made his first Boro appearance from the bench against Norwich on January 31st.
In terms of absentees, Mamadou Kapy Sene is a doubt for this one, though is closing in on a return. Darragh Lenihan and Alex Bangura are longer-term absentees for Middlesbrough.
Middlesbrough predicted XI: Brynn; Ayling, Malanda, Fry, Targett; Morris, Browne, Hackney; Whittaker, Conway, Castledine.
The match will kick off at Bramhall Lane at 8:01pm BST on Monday 9th February 2026.
Supporters in the United Kingdom will be able to follow the action live on Sky Sports Football and Main Event from 7.30pm.
