Midfielders lead the scoring in Corinthians’ recent goals

Corinthians is experiencing a sequence of three victories in the last four games, which helped the club move away from the relegation zone. Although scoring goals is the responsibility of the forwards, it is the midfielders who have taken the spotlight and become the top scorers in these recent challenges.

Five goals have been scored by midfielders in the last six goals made by Corinthians. The standout player is Maycon, with two goals in this period – one from a penalty and one from outside the box. André Luiz, Raniele, and Charles also contributed to the statistics. The sixth goal was scored by Yuri Alberto.

Like Maycon's, Charles's goal was necessary to open the scoring and secure the victory against Vitória in the last round played. Raniele's goal only reduced the defeat to Santos, while André Luiz's complemented the victory against Mirassol, which ended 3-0.

The number 7, in fact, has been one of the most used players since Dorival Júnior took over the Corinthians team. The player has scored three goals since then, the same number as Memphis Depay, who is a forward. Additionally, he has also been wearing the captain's armband.

Under the command of Dorival Júnior, Corinthians is preparing for its next commitment of the season. The team returns to the field only next Sunday, November 2, at 4 p.m. (Brasília time), at the Neo Química Arena, in a match for the 31st round of the Brazilian Championship.
