Mikel Arteta hints at Arsenal boosts before Nottingham Forest and offers update on four players

Mikel Arteta has hinted Arsenal could welcome players back from injury for Saturday’s Premier League meeting with Nottingham Forest, after reporting no fresh issues.

Speaking at the Sobha Realty Training Centre on Friday, he said there were no new problems following the 3-2 win at Chelsea in the Carabao Cup semi-final first leg. According to Football London, he did not rule out some returning and said he would first consult the medical staff.

Arsenal remain without Riccardo Calafiori, Piero Hincapie, Cristhian Mosquera and young forward Max Dowman.

Calafiori felt discomfort before the 2-1 victory over Brighton in late December, which worsened in the warm-up and forced him out of the starting line-up.

Before the midweek game at Stamford Bridge, Arteta suggested the full-back would be out for several more weeks with a muscle issue, so a quick return looks unlikely.
