The 2025/26 Serie D season is off to a flying start. After their opening-day win against Pavia last weekend and Wednesday's rescheduled match against Leon, Milan Futuro are preparing to return to the action. Back home again, they face ChievoVerona on Sunday 21 September at 15:00 CEST - a key early-season test, presented in the Match Preview.
LATEST FROM MILAN FUTURO The Rossoneri come into the match on the back of a frustrating 2-2 draw with Leon, a result that stung after surrendering a two-goal lead. Perina scored his second goal in as many games before Balentien bagged his first, seemingly putting Oddo's boys in control, yet Leon fought back to secure the draw. Despite the setback, Milan Futuro showed plenty of positives: a strong start, attacking intent, and chances created throughout. The task now is to build on those encouraging signs while cutting out the mistakes. Rotation is expected once again in Oddo's line-up, though the tactical blueprint will remain the same. With the first significant challenge of the season on the horizon, it will be a true test of the squad's strength, and a chance to reaffirm their place among the top teams.
"The game against ChievoVerona will be a tough challenge," said Coach Oddo, "but we want to continue to grow and play our style of football. At the same time, we know that staying towards the top of the table is important to reflect the hard work we've been putting in. Everyone likes to win, but the reality is that we often play with young players coming straight from the youth academy, and for them, the matches are an opportunity to develop."
LATEST FROM CHIEVOVERONA From collapse to comeback: ChievoVerona have been on the rise again since 2024, following the turmoil of 2021 that nearly wiped the club off the map. Thanks to the leadership of Sergio Pellissier, now honorary vice-president, the club has been rebuilt step by step, and last season they finished 7th in Serie D, narrowly missing out on the playoffs. Coach Cacciatore's 2025/26 campaign has begun with renewed ambition: two wins from two (2-1 over Scanzorosciate and 3-1 against Casatese Merate) has placed them top of the table with a perfect record. Key man De Cerchio is one to watch, as is former Milan striker Paloschi.
WHERE TO WATCH MILAN FUTURO ON TV The match will be broadcast live on Vivo Azzurro TV and the official LND YouTube channel, with coverage from the Chinetti Stadium in Solbiate Arno starting at 14:45 CEST. LATEST FROM SERIE D The referee for the match has been confirmed as Davide Ammannati from the Florence section, with assistant referees Guiducci and Materozzi.
Matchday 3 in Group B of Serie D kicks off on Saturday at 15:00 CEST with Brusaporto v Villa Valle and Caldiero Terme v Casatese Merate.
