Reports in Italy claim that Milan are in ‘no hurry’ to secure a deal for Portuguese defender Antonio Silva, despite the fact that Benfica are keen to offer the 23-year-old a new contract.
According to various reports over the last week, Milan are keen to secure a deal for Silva, represented by super agent Jorge Mendes, following their club-record agreement for Goncalo Ramos, who shares the same representative as his compatriot.
Silva is heading into the final year of his contract with Benfica, expiring in the summer of 2027, and for that reason, reports in Italy have claimed that Milan could seal a deal with Benfica for a price tag in the region of €20m.
According to reports from La Gazzetta dello Sport, however, Benfica are unwilling to sell at these figures, even though Silva will have less than a year remaining on his contract from tomorrow onwards.
Newly-appointed Benfica head coach Marco Silva is also said to be banking on the 23-year-old centre-back being part of his squad in 2026-27.
La Gazzetta dello Sport reports that Benfica will try again to offer Antonio Silva a new and improved contract with increased wages in the near future.

Milan are not particularly concerned, though, knowing that if Silva does not agree to a new contract, then Benfica may be forced into listening to offers, or they may have to settle for losing him for free in a year’s time.
Milan will seek to add at least one new defender to their ranks this summer, and La Gazzetta dello Sport and various other outlets suggest that there are several alternative options.
