Milan legend Nesta: ‘Allegri Restored Order Where There Was Chaos – Leao & Pulisic Are Exceptional’ | OneFootball

Alessandro Nesta has hailed Massimiliano Allegri’s impact since returning to the Milan dugout, claiming the coach has “restored order where there was chaos” after the Rossoneri’s near-perfect start to the Serie A season.

Speaking to La Gazzetta dello Sport, the former Milan defender drew parallels between Allegri’s methods now and those that guided the club to the 2011 Scudetto.

“He’s at his best in moments like this,” Nesta said. “Allegri knows how to fix things – putting players in their right positions, identifying their characteristics, giving order where there was chaos. And don’t forget, this team is strong.”

While refusing direct comparisons with his own Milan era, Nesta admitted to being captivated by Luka Modric’s influence since his arrival.

“Watching him play is beautiful – he reminds me of Pirlo,” he added. “With Modric, Milan are stronger. I didn’t realise he ran that much – he presses, tracks back, and thinks the game like few others.”

The 48-year-old also highlighted the balance of Allegri’s squad, praising the structure of the defence and the dynamism of the midfield.

Turning to the attack, Nesta was full of admiration for Rafael Leao and Christian Pulisic.

“I’m in love with Leao – I’d always want him in my team,” he said. “Pulisic is incredible: pace, goals, assists, intelligence. In Italy, nobody else has a player like him.”

Despite Milan’s early success, Nesta urged caution when it comes to title talk.

“They’re equipped to fight for anything,” he warned, “but I don’t think they’re ready yet to bear the weight of having to win the Scudetto.”
