Milan midfielder backs Ederson to succeed at Manchester United | OneFootball

Ruben Loftus-Cheek has backed incoming Manchester United signing Ederson to impress in the Premier League.

Manchester United have agreed a deal to sign the Atalanta midfielder for an initial fee of around £35m. The Brazilian is set to become Michael Carrick’s first signing as permanent head coach, and will reinforce the club’s midfield group.

The 26-year-old has shone in Serie A with Atalanta, and was part of the team that won the Europa League in 2024. He will arrive at Old Trafford as a replacement for compatriot Casemiro, who departs this summer as a free agent.

AC Milan midfielder Loftus-Cheek was asked by Sky Sports how he thinks Ederson will adapt in England. He described the midfielder as ‘very physical, quick, and strong’ and backed him to be a success at Old Trafford.

“I think he’ll do just fine. The times we’ve played against each other [in Serie A] he’s been very physical, he’s quick and strong, he good on the ball,” the England midfielder said.

“He’ll do really well and he’s a good signing.”
