Milan aren’t hiring any new directors after testing the waters on several options and will simply elevate the few execs that had survived their culling, while Ruben Amorim, Gerry Cardinale, and Zlatan Ibrahimovic will run the show, Mediaset reports.

The transfer market will be technically handled by Hendrik Almstadt and Bobby Gardiner. The former will become the player trading director. He previously worked at Arsenal, Aston Villa, and the PGA. Instead, the latter will be the football intelligence director, and head scout Donato Lomonte will report to him. They have both been at the club since 2019. Board member Massimo Calvelli, formerly of ATP, is the new permanent CEO and will be assisted by RedBird emissary David Castelbianco, Repubblica informs.

Amorim will be more influential than a standard coach and has started shaping his Milan. He phoned Mike Maignan and Adrien Rabiot to convince them not to force their way out, La Gazzetta dello Sport relays.

According to Fabrizio Romano (via SOSFanta), the boss plots to retain Ardon Jashari and Yunus Musah. Instead, Ruben Loftus-Cheek is on his way out.

Our Take on Milan and Amorim

Their new structure is quite the gamble and would look more deliberate had they devised it after receiving a few negative responses. It might just be a temporary solution before hiring Markus Krosche next year. It’ll solve the problem of having too many chefs in the kitchen, as the gaffer, the owner and Ibrahimovic will call the shots for the most part. The last two haven’t exactly stood out for their acumen so far and will face little pushback. Maybe the coach will prove to be a brilliant mastermind, but the odds of things going south are lower.
