Milan have quickly shut down Chelsea’s first bid for Rossonerri custodian Mike Maignan, as the London blues seek a new first-choice custodian heading into the upcoming season.
Daniele Longo reports that whilst the Premier League giants have submitted a bid of €20m for the French international, the Milanese club have set a quote of €30m for the former Lille keeper.
As it stands, the 29-year-old’s contract with the Rossonerri is set to expire next season. While both parties struggle to reach an agreement regarding the extension of his stay at the San Siro, Milan are set to offload Maignan this summer in order to avoid losing him on a free transfer.
With Chelsea boss Enzo Maresca no longer confident in former Brighton shot-stopper Robert Sanchez, the London blues are prepared to make a second attempt to lure Maignan to the Stamford Bridge as they seek to sign a new goal-keeper prior to the start of the FIFA Club World Cup.
