Millwall beat Queens Park Rangers 2-0 at the Den, rising from third to second in the Championship after a fast start settled the London derby.

In the third minute, Derek Mazou-Sacko rifled a left-footer from outside the box into the bottom left after a corner. Moments later, Camiel Neghli doubled the lead (17.), sweeping low from the right after Mazou-Sacko's assist.

Joe Walsh kept Queens Park Rangers in it with sharp stops from Josh Coburn before and after the break, while Anthony Patterson saved late from Nicolas Madsen as the Lions protected their advantage.

A raft of half time changes lifted Queens Park Rangers' tempo and Ilias Chair added craft on the hour, but Rumarn Burrell headed wide from a corner and pressure fizzled without a breakthrough.

There was a stoppage for treatment to Mazou-Sacko after the hour, but the Lions managed the closing stages calmly.

The Lions registered 11 attempts with four on target from 43% possession, and forced six corners. Queens Park Rangers mustered five attempts and 10 corners but hit the target only once.

Next, the Lions visit Stoke City. Queens Park Rangers host Swansea City.
