Kaoru Mitoma could make his first Brighton start since September when Burnley visit the Amex this weekend. According to WeAreBrighton.com, he is back in the frame after injury and illness.

He missed 10 matches with a minor injury, returned in December's 2-0 defeat at Liverpool, then sat out Arsenal through illness before a lively cameo at West Ham on Tuesday night. One effort was clawed away by Alphonse Areola and nearly produced a winner.

Fabian Hurzeler said in his Friday morning press conference that he was pleased with Mitoma's impact and that the winger is an option to start.

Burnley seem certain to sit deep at the Amex, and Mitoma's pace, skill and direct running offer a different route if Brighton cannot pass their way through. He could be the difference between ending a winless run or another frustrating afternoon.

Yankubu Minteh was withdrawn with what looked a bad injury, but Hurzeler said a scan showed only a dead leg. Minteh was due to train on Friday before a decision on his involvement.

Mats Wieffer will definitely miss out after a surprise absence with a small issue with his toes. Joel Veltman will therefore keep his place at right back and marked his first start since September with Brighton's second goal.

Carlos Baleba remains at AFCON, while Solly March, Stefanos Tzimas and Adam Webster are still long-term absentees.
