FLW's Sheffield United fan pundit shares their thoughts on the potential addition of Will Lankshear
The end of a disappointing season for Sheffield United has now come around, as the attention of the Blades hierarchy turns to the summer in preparation for the next campaign.
Sheffield United will be playing Championship football once again next season, after enduring a frustrating year.
Things didn't get off to the best of starts when Ruben Selles was given free rein in the transfer window, replacing Chris Wilder in the process, and that appointment was confirmed to be a major error when the Spaniard was dismissed after losing all six of his games in charge.
Wilder returned to the Bramall Lane dugout shortly after, but the damage was already done, as the 58-year-old has been left with the tools at his disposal, so to speak.
Arguably, the biggest frustration Wilder will have will be his attacking options, with the sale of Kieffer Moore and the lack of replacement forcing him to bring in Patrick Bamford on a free transfer outside the window.
Bamford, 32, has largely impressed since his move to South Yorkshire, but will require some stronger competition heading into next campaign, as the Blades should look to bring back a former academy star.

Will Lankshear has had an excellent season on a personal level on loan with Oxford United in the Championship, and looks to take the next step in his career next campaign.
A former Arsenal youth academy player, Lankshear made the switch to Sheffield United in February 2021, and spent a year and a half in the Blades' youth system before Spurs lured him back to North London in the summer of 2022 for £2 million.
The Englishman never made a senior appearance during his time in South Yorkshire, and after a promising year at the Kassam Stadium, will be looking to kick on next campaign.
Football League World's Sheffield United fan pundit, Jimmy, has shared their thoughts on Lankshear's progression and whether he'd welcome him back to the club this summer to provide Bamford with competition up top.
Jimmy said: "Will Lankshear is a really interesting one. Obviously, we know a little bit about him; he came through our youth system. [He] never played a senior game for Sheffield United, but he's had a good individual season in what has been overall a really disappointing season for Oxford.
"So I do think he could compete with Patrick Bamford. I think it would be a loan.
"Again, we're not in the position to pay big fees this summer, unfortunately, having lost our parachutes, and it would likely depend on us being able to get Tyrese Campbell or Tom Cannon and move the other way.
"So yes, we'd certainly take Will Lankshear in the squad next season. Whether there's going to be room for him, I'm not entirely sure.

As we approach the summer window, plans for recruitment over the coming months will already be well in place at Sheffield United.
Few people will be more keen to see the back of this campaign than Wilder, who will almost certainly be looking to revamp his squad this summer, with numerous incomings and outgoings set to occur.
Neither Danny Ings, Tom Cannon, nor Tyrese Campbell have been able to hit the heights those at Bramall Lane would have hoped, with a distinct possibility that all three could be moved on in the next few months.
Bamford isn't getting any younger, but has been the preferred choice since Wilder returned to the helm, and with 12 months to go on his current terms, at this stage, will continue leading the line next year.
However, Wilder must seek improvements in the final third, and Lankshear could be an excellent fit for the Blades.
For any move to materialise, though, Spurs would likely need to avoid relegation, which remains to be seen whether Roberto De Zerbi's side can avoid the drop or not.
