Mohamed Salah labelled Dominik Szoboszlai as “one of the best players in the world” after the Hungarian starred in Liverpool’s 3-0 win over Brighton.

The Reds progressed into the fifth round of the FA Cup on Saturday with a comfortable victory at Anfield, with Szoboszlai returning from suspension to lash home the second goal.

Szoboszlai moved back into his more natural berth against Brighton, and his performance was rewarded as he thundered a second goal past Jason Steele.

Asked if Liverpool could win the FA Cup, Salah emphasised the importance of his team-mate.

"It's going to depend on his performances,” Salah said of Szoboszlai on TNT Sports.

“He is one of the best players in the world right now. It's good for everyone and I hope we can do it again."

Curtis Jones filled in at right full-back on Saturday, and opened the scoring, ghosting in to convert Milos Kerkez’s delivery.

The academy product insisted that Liverpool had “clicked” despite a disappointing title defence.

"I think we have clicked for a while,” he said.

“It is a season that has obviously not been as good as we'd have liked.

“You can't go into every game and expect to win. I think the team has gelled and off the pitch there is a good bond as well. It is a matter of time before we kick on again.

"I want to win everything. I know what the fans expect. I know what it is like to play for a team like this, you have to win things."
