Mohamed Salah Transfer Latest as Future Remains Unclear After Liverpool Exit

Mohamed Salah has left Liverpool after nine years, and now the noise starts. Plenty of it. Turkey, Saudi Arabia, supposed agreements, unnamed certainty, all of it. The only problem is that the people closest to the player are saying something very different.

Salah ended his Anfield spell at the close of last season, leaving behind a body of work that puts him in the top bracket of Liverpool greats. He made 442 appearances, scored 257 goals and produced 123 assists. That is elite output by any measure, sustained over nearly a decade and across every major competition.

Agent shuts down Besiktas talk

Recent claims suggested the 34-year-old had already agreed a one-year deal with Besiktas. His agent, Ramy Abbas Issa, moved quickly to kill that story. He wrote: “I personally do not know where Mohamed will play next season. What does that tell you?” That is clear enough. There is no point dressing it up.

Abbas also added: “We still do not know where Mohamed will play next season but we may know very soon. It is not our style to have discussions with clubs that Mohamed wouldn’t want to play for, just for the sake of noise.” Again, straightforward. The market is moving, but no conclusion has been reached.

Turkey and Saudi Arabia remain options

Interest from the Turkish Super Lig is real. Besiktas, Fenerbahce and Galatasaray have all been mentioned, which fits with the recent ambition shown by clubs in that league. Saudi Arabia has also been linked, though reports around salary demands have complicated that route.

For now, that is where things stand. Speculation exists, certainty does not.

Salah legacy at Liverpool is already settled

Whatever comes next, Salah’s Liverpool legacy needs no debate. He helped deliver two Premier League titles, the Champions League, the FIFA Club World Cup, the UEFA Super Cup, the FA Cup, two EFL Cups and the Community Shield. Individually, he won four Premier League Golden Boots and collected the PFA Player of the Year award three times, in 2018, 2022 and 2025.

His next club remains unknown. His place in Liverpool history does not.
