Sébastien Pocognoli revealed on Friday that Paul Pogba (32) could miss AS Monaco’s match against Olympique de Marseille due to a minor knee injury sustained during the warm-up against Galatasaray.
That minor knee twist, as it was described by Pocognoli, prevented him from coming on in that game, as Monaco won 1-0. However, it wasn’t necessarily expected that it would rule him out of Sunday night’s game against OM.
Pogba trained as normal on Friday and he was in contention for the game. However, the Frenchman has not been included in the matchday squad.
It is not because of the aforementioned knee injury, but instead because of a calf injury, according to a report from AFP. The injury, described as “very minor”, was sustained on Saturday, during the final training session before the Marseille game. Naturally, the Principality club are not taking any risks with La Pioche.
After the OM game, there is just one game remaining for Monaco in 2025, a Coupe de France encounter against AJ Auxerre (21st December).
