Monza secure Mangas from Sporting CP, fight for Asante too | OneFootball

Newly promoted Monza are very active, today signing Ricardo Mangas from Sporting CP, on loan with obligation to buy at certain conditions, and targeting Maccabi Tel Aviv defender Tyrese Asante.

They were forced to wait until going through the promotion play-offs to guarantee their place back in Serie A, along with Venezia and Frosinone.

Today Mangas landed in Italy and underwent his medical tests, then signed the contract for his new experience with Monza.

The 28-year-old left-sided player has arrived on loan from Sporting CP with an option to buy, becoming an obligation if certain conditions are met.

The cost of the purchase option is believed to be €1.5m plus up to a further €0.4m in add-ons.

Primarily a left-back, he can play in a more advanced role too in a variety of systems.

Meanwhile, Sportitalia claim that Monza are also in talks for Maccabi Tel Aviv defender Asante.

However, they face strong competition from Turkish side Kasimpasa and also fellow Serie A team Lecce.
