Antoine Griezmann (34) is yet to make a decision on his future. The former France international’s contract at Atletico Madrid expires at the end of the season and while there are talks over an extension ongoing, there is also the very feasible possibility of a move to the MLS.

Griezmann has previously been open to finishing his career in the USA, where former international teammates Hugo Lloris and Olivier Giroud have recently moved. The pair currently play for Los Angeles FC, who are the main suitors of the former Barcelona forward.

However, Griezmann isn’t closed to the idea of remaining at Atletico Madrid but not at any price. L’Équipe journalist Loïc Tanzi understands that it is a question of money. “At the same price, he won’t stay,” said Tanzi, who says that the Frenchman has a financially superior offer on the table from LAFC.

Le Parisien, meanwhile, understands that it may also be a question of the player’s role within the project. Ahead of last Tuesday’s meeting between Griezmann and the Atletico Madrid hierarchy, an extension looked the more likely outcome but those talks did not allow for any progression towards that end. The publication added that the former France international wanted to know more about his place in the project going forward.
