AC Milan and Bologna are currently exchanging documents for the transfer of Tommaso Pobega with the Rossblu set to sign the midfielder on loan.

As reported by Matteo Moretto on X, the two clubs are very close to striking a deal that would see Pobega join Vincenzo Italiano’s side on loan for the season and there would also be an option for that deal to become permanent.

Pobega is expected to arrive in Bologna today to finalise the deal and the belief is that €10-15m will be needed from Bologna to make the deal permanent in 2025.

This move may not quite be enough for Milan to make a decisive shift towards Manu Kone from Borussia Monchengladbach given there is no guarantee that the permanent transfer will take place.

Pobega is one of three midfielders that Milan could sell in the final week of the window but Ismael Bennacer is the one that holds the most value and is most likely to bring the funds that can be redirected towards Monchengladbach for Kone.

Pobega has worked under Italiano in the past during his loan spell at Spezia and he was immediately very open to the idea of joining the Rossblu, with Champions League football on offer.
