Another source is reporting that AC Milan have a strong interest in signing Lazar Samardžić from Udinese this summer, and sales could free space to land him.

According to Matteo Moretto of Relevo, Milan are ‘really interested’ in signing Samardzic. It is a name that the management are following with ‘great interest’ and for whom negotiations could begin in the coming weeks.

The Rossoneri management however first wants to focus on some exits to free up space in the middle of the pitch and also to generate some funds, with two stand-out names as potential candidates to depart.

Moretto adds that Geoffrey Moncada and the directors will listen to offers for Yacine Adli and Tommaso Pobega, who have had fringe roles over the past couple of seasons and do not seem to be a big part of Paulo Fonseca’s plans either.

As we have seen both for his club and his national team, Samardzic has been used various areas of midfield and also in the playmaker role. He is a potential ‘wild card’ that could allow Fonseca to vary his formations.

The Serbia international has very different characteristics to Youssouf Fofana of Monaco who is another target, which is why – with a sale or two – he could potentially arrive as well as the Frenchman.
