In all competitions, he has scored 10 goals and provided five assists.

Such has been the form of the attacking midfielder that he has been linked with a move this summer to one of England’s biggest clubs.

There have been reports that Manchester United are keen to do a deal to secure the signing of the 26-year-old.

Some news outlets have reported that the Red Devils see Gibbs-White as a perfect long-term replacement for Bruno Fernandes and may be prepared to land him for a huge £80 million.

He demonstrated his talents earlier in the season by scoring a goal against the Red Devils in a 2-2 draw at the City Ground.

GOAT

Gibbs-White is clearly an admirer of former Manchester United players, as in an interview he named Cristiano Ronaldo as the best player of all time.

In an interview with Sky Sports, he referred to the Portugal legend Ronaldo as “the GOAT”, which is commonly understood to mean the “greatest of all time.”

In the interview, he explained, “what he’s done for the game is obviously incredible. I’d possibly say he is the best player to ever grace football.”

Gibbs-White continued when asked about Lionel Messi, “yeah, you can debate both but I think it’s always personal preference when it comes to those two. Supporting United growing up as a kid, obviously I prefer Ronaldo.”

Final thoughts

The midfielder’s clear affection for the club could certainly come in handy in any future transfer negotiations, as it did with Matheus Cunha and Bryan Mbeumo.
