Rumors linking Egyptian international goalkeeper Mostafa Shobeir with a move to Spain’s top flight have intensified in recent days, with several Spanish outlets reporting concrete interest from LaLiga side Girona FC. However, in an exclusive clarification provided to Africafoot, an official source within Al Ahly has firmly stated that no formal offer has been made for the player.

Spanish press reports suggest that Girona, the Catalan club that has surprised many by leading LaLiga at times this season, is looking to strengthen its goalkeeping department in the upcoming winter transfer window. The club is said to be evaluating several options for the position.

According to journalist Matteo Moretto, speaking on Radio Marca, “Mostafa Shobeir is among the profiles being studied, alongside Villarreal goalkeeper Diego Conde.”

Following the spread of these reports, Africafoot reached out to a senior source at Al Ahly for clarification on the situation. The response was unequivocal: “Al Ahly has not received any official offer from Girona, or from any other Spanish club regarding Shobeir.”

At just 24 years old, Mostafa Shobeir has established himself as one of the most consistent and promising goalkeepers in Egyptian football. With 56 appearances, 32 clean sheets, and only 32 goals conceded, the international shot-stopper is naturally drawing attention from European clubs seeking a reliable, high-potential goalkeeper for the future.
