Mourinho raged after Benfica were held 1-1 at Casa Pia on Monday, tearing into his team and the officiating in the aftermath. According to L'Équipe, he let loose again in his post-match press conference.

He voiced deep disappointment as Benfica dropped two points in a three-way chase with FC Porto, the current leaders, and Sporting Portugal, who sit second.

Mourinho singled out elements of his squad, saying there are players he no longer wants to see on the pitch and that he does not want them to play, adding that not everyone shares the same standards.

He also criticised the referee and VAR, arguing their management shaped the contest. While praising Casa Pia’s effort to fight for a point, he said the hosts repeatedly went down and protested at everything, and that the officials let it happen. He accepted his side lacked the same determination.

The former Chelsea and Real Madrid manager dampened talk over his future, stressing he remains committed and intent on fixing the slide. Seven points behind FC Porto, he said the title is drifting and the focus is now second place, with only the top two in Portugal qualifying for the Champions League.
