Jose Mourinho may not have officially been announced as Real Madrid’s new manager yet, but the Portuguese tactician has already begun his work planning his upcoming project.
As relayed earlier today, the coach already outlined two demands to the Real Madrid board for his project – one as an urgent defensive midfield signing and one former player in his coaching staff to connect the players and the board.
Now, Sergio Valentin brings forth a report that the manager is asking for another midfield signing – a demand that makes clear that Mourinho sees Real Madrid’s midfield as the weak link.
Indeed, as relayed by the Spanish journalist, the player Mourinho is asking Real Madrid to sign is none other than Manchester City captain Bernardo Silva.

The ‘Special One’ has asked the administration to work on bringing the veteran Portuguese midfielder to Madrid as he values not only his reliability but also his quality and experience.
The 31-year-old’s contract with Manchester City is expiring and he will be a free agent this summer beyond any doubt. He is asking for a salary of €10 million net per season as matters stand.
In fact, Silva has even been linked with Real Madrid in the past as he was offered to the club a month ago in anticipation of his expiring contract. At the time, Real Madrid turned a blind eye.

As a free agent, Silva is exactly the type of player Real Madrid will be looking to pounce on as it works out to be an economically viable option that enables them to prioritise their funds for positions in more dire need of signings.
That factor, however, is what interests several other clubs as well and Barcelona offers the single-biggest threat to Real Madrid’s chances.
Word has it that the veteran star dreams of playing for Barcelona and that the Catalans are contemplating whether or not to make an offer for the Manchester City captain.
So, only time will tell if Real Madrid decide to enter the race as per Mourinho’s request.
