Ange-Yoan Bonny’s story is one of miles travelled, passion and dreams coming true. Born in Aubervilliers on 25 October 2003 and a player who developed in France – from La Rochelle to Châteauroux – Bonny is the new face of Inter’s attack. After a standout season in Serie A with Parma, the French striker is ready to write a new chapter in his career wearing the Nerazzurri shirt.

Pace, power and a spirit of sacrifice: his profile fits perfectly with Inter’s philosophy. But who exactly is Ange-Yoan Bonny? Here are ten fun facts to get to know him better, both on and off the pitch.

FROM THE TATAMI TO THE FOOTBALL PITCH

Before football, Bonny practised judo. “I was hyperactive as a child,” he recalls. “However, judo wasn’t enough to tire me out. Therefore, my mum signed me up for a football team when I was about five or six. It was love at first sight. From that moment on, I never stopped.”

“ANGELO”: HIS ITALIAN NICKNAME

Having been in Italy for four years now, Ange-Yoan won over Parma not only with his skills on the pitch but also through his personality. Fans and teammates affectionately nicknamed him “Angelo”, an Italianised version of his name.

TACTICAL EVOLUTION

He hasn’t always been a striker: “I played in midfield until I was 16-17. Then, I was moved up front… I’d say it worked out well, considering how my career has gone.”

A GOAL TO REMEMBER: MAGIC IN MONZA

His best goal? “The one I scored in Monza on 15 March. It was a big match in our battle for survival. In the 84th minute, I picked up the ball in midfield, beat two defenders and curled it into the far corner. It finished 1-1 – a fantastic and important goal.”

THE LEGEND OF RONALDO

As a child, he admired Cristiano Ronaldo. When it comes to Inter legends, however, he has no doubts: “R9, Ronaldo O Fenômeno, is my all-time favourite Inter player. An incredible striker.”

THE 26TH FRENCHMAN IN INTER'S HISTORY

Ange-Yoan Bonny becomes the 26th French player to wear the Inter shirt. He joins fellow countrymen Marcus Thuram and Benjamin Pavard in the current Nerazzurri squad.

TOURS, HOME SWEET HOME

“The place I feel most attached to? Without a doubt, Tours, in France.

BETWEEN RAP AND SOUL: MUSIC AS A RITUAL

Rap and soul are his favourite genres. “They help me relax before matches, take the pressure off and find the right focus.”

BEYOND FOOTBALL: CINEMA, BASKETBALL AND PADEL

A sports enthusiast in general, Bonny follows basketball passionately and enjoys playing padel. Then there’s cinema: “I don’t have a favourite film, but I recently watched F1, which stars Brad Pitt, and really liked it.”

NO PLAN B

For Bonny, there was never any doubt: “I never wanted to do anything else in life. I always dreamt of being a footballer. And I’ve managed to make that dream come true.”
